Bill Fisher, PT

Mr. Fisher has over 21 years experience as a Physical Therapist in the outpatient setting. He is a proponent of evidence based practice and strives to reach each individuals utmost potential. Post surgical, spine and sports medicine are among his treatment interests. “The road to recovery starts with a good plan”.

Juan Melgoza, PTA  

Juan has over 17 years experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant. He received his Associate of Science Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from the Professional Skills Institute in Santa Barbara and has completed additional training in treating the shoulder and knee and rehabilitation of the throwing athlete.

While in High school at Buena, Juan distinguished himself as an all league and all-county performer in soccer. In addition to his work with Premier Physical Therapy & Associates Juan is involved with the California South Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) medical staff member for over 10 years.  Presently Juan is donating his time to the local soccer community providing injury prevention, fitness and  training consultation.

In his spare time Juan coaches youth soccer, plays in an adult soccer league, plays drums with a band, and loves spending time with his wife and two children.

 

Garrett Desrosiers PT, DPT

Garrett grew up in the small town of Acushnet, Massachusetts prior to moving to California. Garrett graduated from Husson University in Bangor, Maine with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and Biomechanics then went on to receive his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He has worked in a wide array of physical therapy settings across the United States including outpatient private practices, acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home health care. He particularly enjoys helping patients to identify, manage, and heal the source of their pain through education, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercises. Garrett’s particular clinical interests include neck, low back, and shoulder rehabilitation. Garrett is a practitioner of the Fascial Distortion Model (FDM), a manual therapy model of diagnosis and treatment of common musculoskeletal conditions that gets patients quicker reduction in pain and often immediate improvements in movement and restrictions in order to get them back to performing meaningful activities. Garrett currently resides in Port Hueneme with his fiancée Kayleigh. In his free time, he enjoys following New England sports, hiking, traveling, and going to the beach.

Joseph Santistevan PT, DPT   

Joseph​ ​began​ ​his​ ​experience​ ​in​ ​movement​ ​through​ ​participation​ ​in​ ​sports;​ ​boxing,​ ​cross country,​ ​and​ ​track.​ ​Boxing​ ​as​ ​a​ ​youth,​ ​Joseph​ ​won​ ​Silver​ ​Gloves​ ​and​ ​Junior​ ​Olympic​ ​State Championships​ ​in​ ​his​ ​home​ ​state​ ​of​ ​Colorado.​ ​He​ ​went​ ​on​ ​to​ ​compete​ ​in​ ​boxing​ ​for​ ​the​ ​military, representing​ ​the​ ​All​ ​Navy​ ​Boxing​ ​team​ ​at​ ​the U.S.​ ​Men’s​ ​National​ ​Championships​ ​and​ ​Armed​ ​Forces Tournaments,​ ​training​ ​out​ ​of​ ​Port​ ​Hueneme.​ ​After​ ​exiting​ ​the​ ​military,​ ​Joseph​ ​worked​ ​as​ ​a boxing​ ​coach​ ​at​ ​Oxnard​ ​Police​ ​Activities​ ​League​ ​while​ ​he​ ​completed​ ​his​ ​bachelors​ ​in​ ​Exercise Science​ ​from​ ​California​ ​State​ ​University,​ ​Northridge. Joseph​ ​completed​ ​his​ ​Doctorate​ ​in​ ​Physical​ ​Therapy​ ​from​ ​California​ ​State​ ​University, Long​ ​Beach.​ ​He​ ​has​ ​notable​ ​clinical​ ​experience​ ​to​ ​include;​ ​Veteran’s​ ​Affairs​ ​Medical​ ​Center​ ​of Long​ ​Beach,​ ​North​ ​Island​ ​Naval​ ​Air​ ​Station​ ​in​ ​Coronado,​ ​CA;​ ​working​ ​with​ ​Navy​ ​pilots​ ​and Airmen.​ ​Lastly,​ ​​ ​​EXOS​ ​Athletes’​ ​Performance​ ​Institute/Andrew’s​ ​Institute​​ ​in​ ​Gulf​ ​Breeze,​ ​FL where​ ​he​ ​worked​ ​with​ ​NFL​ ​combine​ ​athletes​ ​and​ ​Military​ ​Special​ ​Forces.​ ​Joseph​ ​is​ ​a​ ​certified practitioner​ ​for​ ​​Blood​ ​Flow​ ​Restriction​ ​Training​,​ ​​Functional​ ​Movement​ ​Screen​​ ​and​ ​​Selective Functional​ ​Movement​ ​Assessment​.

Christopher Waite, PT, DPT, ATC 

Chris graduated from Brigham Young University in 2010 with a BS in Athletic Training.  He took a break from his studies to serve a religious mission for his church in Milan, Italy and speaks fluent Italian. After graduation, Chris was the head Athletic Trainer for El Toro High School in Orange County, CA.  Here he developed his love of treating and working with athletes.  Chris graduated from the University of St. Augustine in 2016 with his Doctor of Physical Therapy.  Chris treats all patients as if they were his athletes and takes great satisfaction in helping them return to their sport, job or the things they love to do most.  In his spare time Chris enjoys fishing, camping, hiking, cooking, kayaking, snowboarding, wakeboarding and spending time with his wife and three children.

Michael Barnwell, PTA 

Michael graduated with an A.S. in PTA. Enjoys soccer, off-roading, camping and using tools for construction and repair. Helping people return to their activities provides great joy and he looks forward to treating the people of the community. Cultural differences are much appreciated by this Army brat and he seizes any opportunity to learn from others and try new things.

Pablo Rodriguez, PTA   

Pablo is a physical therapist assistant with vast years of experience working with a variety of patients and settings. His passion is working with athletes focusing on strength and conditioning for a successful return to sport and injury prevention. Pablo loves spending time with his family, playing soccer and fishing.

Daisy Cardona, PT Aide   

Daisy has a BA in Athletic Administration with a minor in health and exercise science which she received from the University of Oklahoma. She was born and raised in Ventura, CA where she played soccer for Ventura College and earned a scholarship to play D1 level soccer. A local stand out in Ventura County Daisy has earned All-American honors as well as National Player of the Year while playing for Ventura College, where she now is an assistant coach for the Women’s Soccer team. Daisy plans on applying to Physical Therapy in the near future and possibly pursue her interest in sports orthopedics. In her free time, Daisy enjoys going to the beach, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Brenda Espinoza, PT Aide   

Currently a PT Aide at Premier Physical Therapy, Brenda received her AA from Ventura College while being a student athlete. She then transferred to a 4-year University in South Carolina to continue her undergrad and continue to play soccer for her respective school. Graduated in December 2016 from Newberry College (SC) with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. Brenda will apply to PT school in the near future to become a Physical Therapist. During her free time she enjoys going to the beach and hanging out with family and friends.

Aldo Amezcua, PT Aide  

Aldo obtained his Professional Associates of Physical Therapy degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico. Currently, he is undergoing the process for approval of foreign educated assistants to practice in the state of California. Aldo was part of Mexico’s CODE (Comision del Deporte), treating elite athletes on the Mexican Olympic team. His past times include spending time with his wife and infant son as well as playing recreational basketball.   

Guadalupe Magana, PT Aide  
Guadalupe grew up in the small town named Santa Paula, California. She attended Ventura College for two years where she played soccer and was named All American her sophomore year. She graduated with her AA and transferred to Newberry College  in South Carolina on a full soccer scholarship. Guadalupe graduated from Newberry College with a Bachelors of Science degree. She is currently working at Premier Physical Therapy with two great physical therapists, Garrett and Michael. She enjoys playing soccer, traveling, and spending a lot of time with her family.

Alejandra Sandoval, PT Aide  

Alejandra is a CSUN graduate with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology-Dance. She has had three knee surgeries and has done physical therapy at the clinic in Oxnard. She currently has no ACL in her left knee and is stronger than ever, all thanks to the staff at Premier. She is a part time substitute teach for K-12 and is working on becoming a physical education teacher. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, trail running and reading.

Lidia Padilla, PT Aide

Lidia recently joined the Premier Physical Therapy & Associates team. She obtained her Professional Associates of Physical Therapy degree from Simon Bolivar University in Barranquilla, Colombia. She plans to start he process for approval of foreign, educated assistants to practice in the state of California. During her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, traveling, try new foods and hanging out with friends and family.

 

Jessica Valadez, PT Aide   

Jessica recently joined the team at Premier Physical Therapy as a PT aide; Jessica was born and raised in Camarillo, CA. She has played soccer since she was 4 years old. Jessica was a member of the U17 Mexican National Team, where she participated in the U17 World Cup Qualifiers in Guatemala and in the U17 World Cup in Azerbaijan, both in 2012. She also participated in the U20 World Cup Qualifiers in the Cayman Islands. Jessica received a scholarship to play division I soccer at Grand Canyon University where she graduated in April 2017 with her BS in Biology with an emphasis in physical therapy and a minor in entrepreneur studies. Jessica intends on applying to PT school either locally or out of state in the near future with hopes of becoming a physical therapist.

Shayne Wells, Billing Coordinator    

Shayne has been with Premier Physical Therapy & Associates since 2016 and has gained infatuation with the healing that physical therapy can do. Shayne received her AA in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Ventura College where she played two years of collegiate soccer and was named MVP Defensive Player her sophomore year. Transferring to San Diego on an academic and athletic scholarship to continue soccer and education, Shayne graduated with a BA in Communications with emphasis in PR, social media and marketing completing her undergrad career. She has a passion for traveling and her favorite band is LANY.

Elena Franco, Receptionist  
Elena grew up in Oxnard, CA and is proudly certified as a Medical Assistant. She has been working within the medical field for over 20 years and continues pursuing that path at Premier Physical Therapy & Associates. She is family oriented and enjoys spending quality time with loved ones and friends. Elena’s hobbies consists of cooking, traveling and watching movies with her family.

Alyssa Venegas, Receptionist

Alyssa was born and raised in Santa Paula, the “Citrus Capital of the World.” After graduating from Santa Paula High School in 2009, she went on to receive her Associate Degree in Fine Arts in 2012. Due to her love of learning new skills and working with people, she then strived to become a Medical Assistant Office Manager and received her Professional Receptionist Certificate in 2014. In 2016, she joined the Premier Physical Therapy team to help bring our Moorpark office to life. Alyssa enjoys playing soccer, drawing, and spending time with her husband Pablo, twins Athena and Julian, and cat Panda. In the near future she does look forward to pursue her office manager degree.
