Meet The Team

PT

Bill Fisher, PT

Mr. Fisher has over 25 years experience as a Physical Therapist in the outpatient setting. He is a proponent of evidence based practice and strives to reach each individuals utmost potential. Post surgical, spine and sports medicine are among his treatment interests. “The road to recovery starts with a good plan”.

Juan Melgoza, PTA

Juan has over 17 years experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant. He received his Associate of Science Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from the Professional Skills Institute in Santa Barbara and has completed additional training in treating the shoulder and knee and rehabilitation of the throwing athlete.

While in High school at Buena, Juan distinguished himself as an all league and all-county performer in soccer. In addition to his work with Premier Physical Therapy & Associates Juan is involved with the California South Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) medical staff member for over 10 years.  Presently Juan is donating his time to the local soccer community providing injury prevention, fitness and  training consultation.

In his spare time Juan coaches youth soccer, plays in an adult soccer league, plays drums with a band, and loves spending time with his wife and two children.

Chris Waite, DPT

Clinical Manager Moorpark

Chris graduated from Brigham Young University with a BS in Athletic Training.  He took a break from his studies to serve a religious mission for his church in Milan, Italy and speaks fluent Italian. After graduation, Chris was the head Athletic Trainer for El Toro High School in Orange County, CA.  Here he developed his love of treating and working with athletes.  Chris graduated from the University of St. Augustine with his Doctor of Physical Therapy.  Chris treats all patients as if they were his athletes and takes great satisfaction in helping them return to their sport, job or the things they love to do most.  In his spare time Chris enjoys fishing, camping, hiking, cooking, kayaking, snowboarding, wakeboarding and spending time with his wife and three children.

Miguel Silva, DPT

Clinical Manager Oxnard

Miguel graduated from Cal Lutheran University with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science in 2014. While at Cal Lutheran, Miguel was a member of the soccer team and is now an assistant coach for the program. He went on to complete his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at University of St. Augustine, in San Marcos, CA in 2019. Miguel is committed to the physical therapy profession and is passionate about helping people in his community reach their personal goals and getting them back to doing what they love to do the most. In his spare time, along with coaching at Cal Lutheran, Miguel also coaches in the girls soccer program at Oxnard High School. He also enjoys playing soccer, working out, and spending time with his friends and family.

Tristan Pereira, DPT

Tristan grew up in Camarillo and attended Santa Clara High School, where he played football and baseball earning multiple all league nominations in both sports. He went on to play collegiate baseball at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon where he graduated with a B.A. in Exercise and Sport Science. He earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2022 where he developed his passion for treating individuals with musculoskeletal injuries. With his extensive background in baseball, he has taken a special interest in treating overhead athletes of all skill levels but enjoys watching all patients reach their full potential. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, playing softball, and hanging out at the beach.

Daisy Cardona, PTA

Daisy has a BA in Athletic Administration with a minor in health and exercise science which she received from the University of Oklahoma. She was born and raised in Ventura, CA where she played soccer for Ventura College and earned a scholarship to play D1 level soccer. A local stand out in Ventura County Daisy has earned All-American honors as well as National Player of the Year while playing for Ventura College. Daisy graduated from American Career College in 2022, earning her credential as a Physical Therapist Assistant. In her free time, Daisy enjoys going to the beach, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Cierra Merz, PTA

Growing up in Ventura County, Cierra attended Oxnard High School where she excelled as a student athlete on the volleyball court. After attending Moorpark College, she continued her collegiate volleyball career at William Woods University in Missouri. Following her undergraduate training in Athletic Training, Coaching and Wellness, Cierra attended Concorde College earning her credential as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 2022. Her passions include coaching, fitness, health and wellness.

Guadalupe Magaña

Guadalupe grew up in the small town named Santa Paula, California. She attended Ventura College for two years where she played soccer and was named All American her sophomore year. She graduated with her AA and transferred to Newberry College in South Carolina on a full soccer scholarship. Guadalupe graduated from Newberry College with a Bachelors of Science degree. She enjoys playing soccer, traveling, and spending a lot of time with her family.

Jessica Valadez

Jessica was born and raised in Camarillo, CA. She has played soccer since she was 4 years old. Jessica was a member of the U17 Mexican National Team, where she participated in the U17 World Cup Qualifiers in Guatemala and in the U17 World Cup in Azerbaijan, both in 2012. She also participated in the U20 World Cup Qualifiers in the Cayman Islands. Jessica received a scholarship to play division I soccer at Grand Canyon University where she graduated in April 2017 with her BS in Biology with an emphasis in physical therapy and a minor in entrepreneur studies. In her free time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, playing soccer, hiking, and baking.

Michael Moraga

Mike attended Moorpark/Ventura College where he received multiple Associates Degrees in Kinesiology, History, and Social & Behavioral Science. Mike later on transferred to Fresno State where he not only received a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Physical Education/History, but also competed for their football program. He is now a football coach and runs his own organization, “Premium,” which consists of more than 150 elite high school football student athletes. This year, Mike is looking to become an officer for the US Air Force National Guard, working as a fire fighter. After boot camp, Mike plans on continuing his education at a Physical Therapy Assistant program, in hopes that he will continue to work for this awesome company as a PTA in the future. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with friends, traveling, reading personal-growth books, and playing sports. He takes pride in being a lifelong learner, and is always striving to pick up new skills.

Nailea Gaytan

Nailea “Nai” Gaytan is a Physical Therapy Aid at Premier Physical Therapy’s Oxnard location. Nai was born in Ventura, CA, but was raised in Oxnard, CA. She graduated from Pacifica High School back in 2020, and has since enrolled in Ventura College where she is currently studying Communications and plans to transfer to a four-year university in her near future. In her free time Nai loves hiking, traveling and enjoying time with her family. Her favorite part about being a PT Aide is helping people become healthier and happier.

Daniel Servin

Daniel, “Danny” was born and raised in Oxnard, California. Daniel graduated from Oxnard High School and later pursued getting his AA in Kinesiology at Oxnard College. He graduated from Oxnard College in 2019. He is continuing his education at Cal Lutheran University where he is working on receiving his degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis on Human Performance. Daniel is very family oriented, and also enjoys watching and playing soccer when he is not working. He hopes to continue to learn more about physical therapy with hopes to one day become a PTA.

Alyssa Venegas

Alyssa was born and raised in Santa Paula, CA. She joined the Premier team in 2016 to help bring our Moorpark office to life and now you can find her at both locations. Due to her love of learning new skills within the office setting, she is currently Certified as a Professional Receptionist, Human Resource Representative and certified in Medical Insurance Billing. Out of the office she is a team manager for her daughter’s soccer team SPFC Xtreme. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, gaming, drawing, and watching anime.

Valarie Guzman

Valarie enjoys the satisfaction of helping people by working within the medical field. She received her medical assisting certificate in 2017. She was a stay at home mom of two before she joined the premier team in 2018 as a receptionist. Today, you can find her at our front desk or working as a PT Aide. Outside of work, she enjoys going to the gym, watching her daughter play soccer and spending time with family.

Arely Lopez

Arely was born and raised in Oxnard, CA. She has played soccer for most of her life. She recently graduated from Pacifica High school and is currently attending Ventura College for her AA in business and administration and plans on transferring to a four year university.
On her free time Arely enjoys spending time with her loved ones, playing soccer, and traveling.

Giselle Gutierrez

Giselle was born and raised in Ventura, CA. She is currently living in Oxnard, CA with her family. Giselle has three siblings, two brothers and a sister. She recently graduated from Oxnard High School back in 2020 and is currently studying at Oxnard College where she is planning on getting her AA in Kinesiology and plans to then transfer out to a four year university in hopes to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. Giselle has enjoyed the interaction with patients & helping them get back to their daily activities. During her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and family, as well as playing soccer and traveling.

Gabe Ochoa

Gabe attended College of the Canyons and received an AA in biology. While attending College of the Canyons he was the captain of the men’s soccer team and helped them win the first league title for the men’s soccer program. After transferring to Cal State San Marcos he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science. Gabe loves to spend his time outdoors especially surfing, playing soccer, and hiking.
